Joshua Jackson, a former bass student
now attending college (studying music production) 
 from Canton, Ohio  blew me away when he e mailed
his testimony:

Before I bought my first bass, I was very easily influenced. I saw people up on stage making it look
like playing an instrument was so easy. And I thought, "oh that's easy"! I was sure that within 2 weeks
I would be a master bassist. Well let's just say that I found out pretty quickly That I was wrong!. Two weeks later
 I met Bob. I was expecting your "normal average lessons" which I would have gladly taken. But he gave me
something different and what he passed on to me I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Bob isn't your "average teacher".
Bob goes beyind your expectations. Bob is a talented, dedicated, well rounded teacher/ musician
as well as a good friend. Bob has faith in all his students progress and success and nothing but good intentions for them.
Being an active musician in my church as well as other venues (including teaching)
I've found over the years that most kids who first pick up an instrument want a teacher that will figure out
the notes in a song for them, write it down then show them how to play it. 
It will take time and patience.
A note to Bob's current students...
If your are wondering in the middle of a lesson "why is the cycle of fifths so important??Is this relevant?? 
will I use this stuff in my everyday playing??"
WEll , I can personally guarantee you that if you have strong desire and personal motivation
you'll come come to that point where you'll see the relevance, begin to feel like your having fun
playing instead of feeling like it's work making music and see the importance in his
methods of teaching.
You might not presently be able to see how his teachings are going to benefit you at first, but in the
 near future you will eventually see and look back and hopefully thank him for it all.
We all like to be appreciated for our work even if we don't show it. 
After some of my concerts, I am asked questions like. "where did you learn to play bass like that?"
and "who is your teacher?" I honestly believe that there is no way that I
would be where I am today if I had not met Bob 3 years ago.
I'd just like to say a big GOD BLESS YOU AND THANKS AGAIN BOB!!
